Web hosting

It is a place where websites are stored. In order for your site to be available all over the world it has to be stored on a computer, which is known as a web server. Think of it as a house to store files (HTML codes, images, documents and videos) in a web hosting.

Many times the term web hosting refers to the company that we hire to store our Web and that provides the service, and allows a connectivity to the Internet. So other computers can access the files on your site.

Types of Web hosting

There are 5 types of web hosting , which are free, shared, VPS (private virtual server), dedicated and cloud hosting . What they all have in common is that they are a storage center for your website, but they differ in storage capacity, control, required technical knowledge, server speed and reliability. Free accommodation

There are free hosting options like having your website on WordPress.com. The options for personalization and management are limited. If you have a blog you could start with this and then go to WordPress.org and hire an accommodation.

There is also another option, to ask a hosting company for space on your server. With the condition of allowing them to place advertising on your pages.

Shared hosting

In this one web is located in the same server that many other sites, can share with a few, with hundreds or with thousands. Then, all domains share the same resources as RAM or CPU. They are very cheap. Many sites with low traffic and standard software prefer this type of hosting.

It does not require technical knowledge for its management. Among the disadvantages is that there is no access to the control panel, if the web has high traffic it will begin to present problems and the performance of the site will be affected by other sites on the same server.

VPS Hosting

Virtual Private Server, in Spanish, Private Virtual Server. This divides the server into virtual servers, in which each site is hosted on its own dedicated server. But, in reality, they are sharing a server with other users.

With VPS hosting, users may or may not have access to the control panel, depending on the company they hire. And they will have a better hosting environment, more secure. Websites that need more control on the server but do not want to invest in a dedicated one can opt for this option.

As a disadvantage, there are certain limitations for handling high traffic. And in some cases, your site could be affected by others that are on the server.

Dedicated hosting

A dedicated server offers maximum control over the web server where your site is hosted. You pay for a complete server, so your site is the only one stored there.

As disadvantages is that it is the most expensive hosting service. It is only recommended if you need a maximum control and a better server. If you have an online store with many products and if your website receives a lot of traffic.

Cloud hosting

The server in the cloud offers an unlimited possibility to handle high traffic or high traffic points at certain times. It works because a team of servers, called a cloud, work together to host a group of websites.

This allows several computers to work together to handle high traffic levels for any particular web. As a disadvantage, it is observed that they are usually expensive.

Web server

A web server or web server is the computer where the pages of your website are stored.

Data center

Normally when we talk about web hosting, it refers to the server that hosts your website or the hosting company that rents space on the server for you. But when we refer to the data center, it is the space it uses to locate the servers.

A data center could be a much larger room, house or building, equipped with backup batteries, connections for communications, controlled environment (air conditioning, fire elements) and security devices.

For example, know Axarnet we have our data center in Madrid, it has Tier III classification. We have our own infrastructure, which is the Interxion Data Center in Madrid.
